It took some time, but the Dallas Mavericks will finally get their rings. And judging by the looks of them, it was worth the wait.
The total estimated cost of each ring is $40,000 (lots of diamonds), but it’s the significance that really makes the players smile. “We’ve only seen a brief design of it,” Jason Terry told ESPN. “Once you get it and see and hold it and touch it, it’s probably like a baby — you know I got four of those — so that’s probably what it’s like.”
Mark Cuban, the Mavericks’ owner, said he paid a total of $1.4 million for the rings, which includes the 15 players and the coaches. The rings will have the player’s name, team logo, and player’s jersey number on one side. One side of the ring will include the player’s name engraved above the team logo with the player’s jersey number.
Not too bad, but with Cuban’s deep pockets, you really wouldn’t expect anything less.
